The Invisible Thread

There’s no goodbye worse than the lack of a goodbye. 
The Invisible Thread took the boy away
– through the looking-glass
into a Wonderland
where no mortal can hear his steps again.

Decay is all that’s left behind
– a Universe that’s turning into the Land-of-never-knowing
why
            what
                        how –

There’s an Invisible Thread
And no human can defeat its will.
It took the boy farther and farther away
until his steps became the mere echo
of a forever changed Tomorrow.
